Cost: $60.00, 4 sessions
Skill Level: Adventurous Beginner - Intermediate
Brioche stitch, is an old stitch pattern much loved for its warmth and has become a very popular decorative stitch in many modern designs! This stitch is particularly stunning when worked in two colors. Brioche can be a bit tricky to master on your own, especially increases and decreases. Join the KAL and let Cathy hold your hand and guide you through your selected project. We are letting you pick the pattern you want to work on, but we do have some suggestions.
Some suggested patterns to consider:
Timid beginner: Brioche Bandana Cowl
Intermediate: Meandering Shawl by Stephen West
Materials: as listed in pattern of choice.
Some additional yarn and needles of an appropriate size (listed on the yarn ball band) for practicing brioche stitch.

Cost: $60.00, 2 session class
Skill Level - Intermediate
The world is full of the most beautiful Fair Isle sweaters, loved for their interplay of color using intricate geometric or floral inspired designs.
These types of sweaters are traditionally knit in the round and then cut (steeked) to create the arm and neck openings. In this two-part class we will first learn the techniques, tips and tricks for learning how to work 2 stranded color work. The first class will cover a bit of color theory and choosing yarn by value to create a strong contrast and better-defined designs. The second class will focus on securing and cutting, yes cutting, your work and picking up stitches to finish off the cut edges. The project used in the class is a set of coasters designed specifically to teach the necessary skills.
- 2 very highly contrasting colors of wool yarn in any weight. Needles for knitting in the round of the size appropriate for the weight of the yarn (check the ball band).
- Needles to work in the round in your preferred method.
On The Beach by Isabel Kraemer Sweater KAL - Thursdays Feb. 28, March 14, 28, April 4 6pm-8pm
Cost: $60.00, 4 sessions
If you are like me, you hate sewing seams. I find that the raglan sleeve style of most top-down sweaters are unflattering in that they do not define your shoulders, giving the impression of slumped shoulders and poor posture. The Contiguous shoulder method gives the look of a set in sleeve while knitting top down seamless sweaters.
In this knit along, we will be working from a basic V-neck sweater pattern, On The Beach by Isabell Kraemer. I will be teaching you how to modify the neckline, changes you can make for a better fit, and how to add decorative touches such as textured stitches or decorative borders around the neckline.
Homework: work a swatch with your chosen yarn and needles.
Materials: as outlined in the pattern. Bring your favorite fitting sweater to help obtain your perfect measurements for a perfect fit.
